The strategy

EeeCee Hotel was an institution in Shillong, a small town in northeastern India.

While they didn’t have massive budgets, they did have an advantage — they were one of the oldest, largest hotels in a quirky little town.

Growing the market would work in their favour.

So, we decided to sell the town.

The idea

They didn’t have massive media budgets, but they did have loyal guests who loved their time in Shillong.

We created a set of postcards — physical and digital — with discount codes only for their friends. 

It would be a nice memento for the guests, allowing them to share their love for the town.

And it would make guests target the right kind of potential customers for us — friends who’d enjoy the same vibes as them.

A media buy that literally paid for itself.
